1. Research staff at the University of Western Australia have established a strong collective presence on campus, with an organisation called the UWA Researchers Association, a website containing much useful information, copies of papers and proposals which their association has put to UWA management. The NTEU branch at UWA has been closely involved in these developments at their university. 2. Research staff in the Education Faculty at QUT have been supported by the Faculty to establish a website devoted to the professional development of resaerch assistants. The website is entitled RA-PID.Staff in the Education Faculty are also conductiing a project to investigate the situation of research assistants at QUT. Their website is also available. 3.
